BJP is adamant that Waqf Board has no place in the Constitution and it will continue to do so. Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik has confirmed the withdrawal of the government decision. According to the government order of November 28, Rs 20 crore was allocated for the period 2024-25 to strengthen the Maharashtra Waqf Board. Of these, Rs 2 crore were released to the headquarters of the Waqf Board in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

Maharashtra government withdrew the order to release Rs 10 crore to strengthen the State Waqf Board. Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik gave this information. Maharashtra BJP has posted a post on social media regarding this and said that the earlier order has been cancelled. BJP Maharashtra tweeted, "The administration has canceled the GR regarding payment of Rs 10 crore to the Waqf Board. Fake news is spreading that BJP-Mahayuti government will immediately give funds of Rs 10 crore to Maharashtra Waqf Board. This wrong decision was taken with mutual consent by the officials at the administrative level. But after strong opposition from BJP leaders, this decision has now been cancelled.
